Hi, I’m Chris, and I've never worked for the FBI.

 

If you're looking for the former Assistant Director of the FBI, that's a different Chris Swecker. Sorry about that.

 

I'm a nerd, team builder, and technologist. For more than a decade, I’ve worked at the intersection of IT operations, cybersecurity, and leadership, helping people and businesses navigate complexity.
 

I'm Chris Swecker, VP of Operations at Appalachia Technologies, an MSP and cybersecurity firm in Mechanicsburg, PA. I'm a nerd, team builder, and technologist. For more than a decade, I’ve worked at the intersection of IT operations, cybersecurity, and leadership, helping people and businesses navigate complexity.

 

I started out on the help desk, worked my way through IT support and service desk management, and now lead a team spanning NOC/SOC operations, AI strategy, and cybersecurity compliance for businesses and local governments across Central Pennsylvania.

I've been working with AI professionally since 2023, and most of what's on this site comes out of that work: the tools I build to solve real problems, the writing I do on AI adoption and workforce impact, and the talks I give trying to make emerging tech make sense to people who don't live in it every day. I care more about whether AI actually helps a team than whether it's impressive, and that's the thread running through everything here.
